INNOVATION INVESTMENT PROGRAMME |
ICPR (International Corporate Partner Resource) 1200 Limited is now providing an innovation investment programme (JUVAT), to provide opportunity between academia, research institutes and private equity. |
JUVAT |
WHY ? |
In as much as Governments like the UK make huge investments into innovation through various programmes (the 2015 spending review allocated some £5.7 billion of funding over the next 5 years), it is also the case that much of this innovation does not meet its potential. Many funded programmes result in 'copyright' claims, with no serious exploitation taking place, and this problem is magnified with EU programmes, to the extent that a prominent German Institute commented privately that the greater percentage of programmes ended up in the 'EU Graveyard'. Add to this the results of a study from a respected financial institute that found not a single UK spin-out from academia had ever reached the £1 million revenue benchmark, and we can see that a more collaborative approach from more successful and experienced sectors is needed to make a step change in turning this around. The Juvat programme intends to provide a platform to make this happen on an international scale. |
